You can help spread awareness of the Accessible Hotels campaign by writing to your local MP. Their support would be hugely beneficial in publicising the cause and making change in both local and national circles.
If you are campaigning for an Accessible Hotel in your town or city, then writing to your MP should be at the top of your to-do list. This will bring the issue to their attention, and will hopefully bring you even more support from the public.
If you’re unsure who your local MP is, visit www.writetothem.com and type in your postcode. As you are one of their constituents, your MP must reply to your letter.
Things to mention in your letter:
- Tell them who you are
- Tell them what the Accessible Hotels campaign is and our aim
- Why this issue is important to you and why you think there should be change
- What you want to change, or how you want them to help
- Your address to prove that you are a member of their constituency
Writing to your MP could help the campaign to be discussed in the UK parliament, with a view to changing the law regarding the requirements for Accessible Hotel rooms.
Let us know if you write to your MP, and make sure to send up a copy of any replies you receive as well!
